Awesome song dude! This is always a great style of music to listen to. It's mainly great because nobody else can actually make it the way you do. What program/ synthesizer do you use to make the bass?

BoomKitty responds:

I use FL Studio with Serum for phat bass

That is awesome! I love your take on future bass. It sounds awesome!

DJStriden responds:

Thank you!

Hey Poosac! It's nice to see that you are still making music. You have always been better at mixing than I have :)

This sounds awesome! Easily a 5 star!

Poosac responds:

Ahh man, thanks :D

And thank you for scouting me :o

Mixing is just done so well. I really wish I didn't have Garageband
:(

~Nice job though

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

Thanks dude. Garage band can be put to good use if you use it right actually :3

Holy crap dude, there is absolutely no way that you are actually 14.

I seriously don't know how you do it. You are better than many adults on here

I can't even compete with you and I think I'm a little older than you.

~Astonished!

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

Lol I am 14. There are kids younger than me that I know and they are twice as good as me, believe it or not. Thank you for the positive review man :D

This is really cool! I'm glad that you are trying other genres now! This ambient leap worked very well, and the mixing was perfect. The synth selection was like your old selection and I hoe you make more songs with these types of synths!

DJStriden responds:

Thanks! Yeah, I love to try new stuff!

-Your synth choice has gotten way better! You also have a nice melody! Great song overall!

MetronicOfficial responds:

Thank you! :)

Nice song! The cords used are very nice! ;P

DierkusOfficial responds:

Thanks ^^

Holy crap this is awesome!

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

Thank you :D

I do realize that dubstep is very hard to create, and I can't really do it. You are better at digital composing then I am. With that said, I still think this could use some work. The following are three aspects that need reinforcement that can make this song much better.

1) Synth selection- This may be me, but I feel like the synths selected didn't match up that well. They all gave off different "vibes" and I feel like that clashed in a bad way. I will explain more in theme.

2) Theme- I think in general you should try to think about the synths you mix yourself/ select. I feel that in the beginning that the synths would have been okay if you made melodic dubstep. However, the actual "B(?)" section (bass drop) of the song didn't match the theme of the rest of the song. I would suggest that you create a more "ominous" tone in the song if you want the B section to fit with the A section.

3) Composition- I feel as though the sections in the song didn't fit together too well either. Your A section was 30 seconds long, and that was fine. But then your B section was only 15 seconds long. This is an organizational error. Then once again the A section got 30 seconds and the B section got 15 seconds. Then you had what I think was a C section where you combined the A and B section and that lasted for (I lost count so correct me if I'm wrong) 30 seconds also. Then you ended on a 30 second A section. I have two problems here. First, every section is 30 seconds, but for some reason the B section is 15. This is very unorganized for composition. My second problem is the formation in which the the sections come: ABABCA. If you wanted to achieve a five part rondo you should have done ABCBA. I do congratulate you on not doing a simple binary form ABAB because it gets annoying hearing every dubstep song use the same pattern. But I still think that your patten could use some work.

All in all, I hope you know that I'm not trying to put your song down. I'm giving an explanation for my low rating. If there is anything I didn't mention that means I thought it wasn't too much of a problem to mention it. I really hope you grow as a musician, the hard work will hopefully pay off.

This response is the most helpful response I've had in a long time as it's a constructive criticism. I will try to apply what you've listed in my next track: "Th Astral Acknowledgement". I was thinking the same as you as the first drop doesn't fit with the melody, but as I was creating this i listened to this more and more i found it hard to hear the faults. It however does sound a bit better as a whole song if you listen the whole was through and don't try to pick out the faults. Also with drops in dubstep, some types may not use the melody and may sound completely different which I was trying to achieve here, you can listen to: 'Nightkilla-Fairy dust', 'Nightkilla-Nine Circles' and 'Skrillex-Cinema' as they also use this type of structure.

I'm a composer for film, animation and video games. If you need any music, sound design, or voice acting feel free to reach out.
