Wow! I love how you embraced the 8 bit nature of the art in your music! It really sounds like it belongs in the space of that light house, which is cool. Your melody is super fun and I was drawn right in from the start. I also like the parts with the piano, it’s super calming!

There were a few moments when the bass was slightly overpowering and it made some harsh tones. I also think the bitcrush on the sound effects was a little much at times.

Either way, fantastic art and song! Great job :)

BaraAmann responds:

Hey ! thank you for feedback
Yep its look like the bass is taking a too much space a some point
and i wasn't sure about the crush too, anyway thanks for the feedback!

This is so calm! I like it :)

MassiveMarioLuigi700 responds:

Thanks dude!

I love the monkey king, and seeing an EDM song inspired by artwork of his myth is amazing. It’s so great, keep up the good work!

V-Future responds:

Thank you very much, I worked really hard on this one to achieve this sound!

Yo this is sick! That epic choir really adds a lot of UMPH into this track. I also really like your orchestration here.

Abendland responds:

Appreciate your feedback a lot! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, cheers, Chris

Dang, this is a great track man! Makes me really nostalgic for all the EDM I used to listen to like 5 years ago. Great job, this song was produced very well :)

AustonMusic responds:

Thank you! :)

I can’t get enough of Aaron Long’s music! It’s always so good. He’s great at putting in small ear candy that makes the whole song just “work”

Aaron-Long responds:

aw thanks, that's really nice to hear!

This track is so dynamic! So much is happening at once and I'm all here for it. Good stuff man!

UmValent responds:

Thank you man, really appreciate it! :D

I really how the opening of the song is in mono and the transition to stereo at 0:25. It opens the track up and helps with the vibe. This track feels like it would belong on one of those lo-fi youtube livestreams. The mix is super clean and I really respect it man.

If I had to give any recommendations/ feedback I'd say that I think this track could use something more atmospheric to juxtapose the beat. It doesn't need to be too loud, but having a pad in the background would really add volume to the second half of this track. However, that is a small thing and it doesn't detract from my score :)

5/5

This has been one of my few "favorited" audios on NG for a while and I just realized that I never left a review on it. Time to change that.

To start, I am such a sucker for 2 things: 1- Chiptune and 2- Pirates. There should be no wonder why I love this fun song. The fact that you use sytrus really makes me want to try to make my own chiptune song like this.

The main melody is extremely catchy and I find that it's really easy to whistle or hum to. The plucky countermelody is also really well constructed.

For most songs that are as long as this (almost 4 minutes long) I normally find myself wanting to skip certain parts, or wanting to skip the song entirely. I don't know what it is with the structure of this but I always find myself wanting to hear to the end of it, even if I know what is coming next. I'll use it as good background noise as I do something and it never feels too repetitive.

One of my favorite parts is the vibrato/ pitch shifting on the lead synth. It keeps the audio interesting to listen to, so it never drags. I also really love the "ear candy" like the waves, seagulls, and fun panning throughout.

Well, it's safe to say that I love your work here man! Keep up the good stuff, I can't wait to hear what you'll make next! :)

Manderby responds:

Thank you very much! I am liking it quite much myself. I used a classic verse-chorus structure and basically two melodies as duett. The verses each use different harmonic modulations and a different weighting between the voices to keep the song interesting.

I loved experimenting with the pitch and vibrato in this song. Some prefer it more to the extreme, bit I think, the fairly moderate ornaments were fitting.

Glad you liked it!

OMG THIS COMPLETELY SLAPS!

LucidShadowDreamer you never disappoint, every time I sit down to listen to one of your songs I know I'm in for a treat. Great job man.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a lot for the praise! I wish I had more time to compose 'for fun' at the moment. However, I am composing for some commissioned projects, so perhaps I can release some of that music eventually!

I'm a composer for film, animation and video games. If you need any music, sound design, or voice acting feel free to reach out.
