This has been one of my few "favorited" audios on NG for a while and I just realized that I never left a review on it. Time to change that.

To start, I am such a sucker for 2 things: 1- Chiptune and 2- Pirates. There should be no wonder why I love this fun song. The fact that you use sytrus really makes me want to try to make my own chiptune song like this.

The main melody is extremely catchy and I find that it's really easy to whistle or hum to. The plucky countermelody is also really well constructed.

For most songs that are as long as this (almost 4 minutes long) I normally find myself wanting to skip certain parts, or wanting to skip the song entirely. I don't know what it is with the structure of this but I always find myself wanting to hear to the end of it, even if I know what is coming next. I'll use it as good background noise as I do something and it never feels too repetitive.

One of my favorite parts is the vibrato/ pitch shifting on the lead synth. It keeps the audio interesting to listen to, so it never drags. I also really love the "ear candy" like the waves, seagulls, and fun panning throughout.

Well, it's safe to say that I love your work here man! Keep up the good stuff, I can't wait to hear what you'll make next! :)

Thank you very much! I am liking it quite much myself. I used a classic verse-chorus structure and basically two melodies as duett. The verses each use different harmonic modulations and a different weighting between the voices to keep the song interesting.

I loved experimenting with the pitch and vibrato in this song. Some prefer it more to the extreme, bit I think, the fairly moderate ornaments were fitting.

Glad you liked it!

OMG THIS COMPLETELY SLAPS!

LucidShadowDreamer you never disappoint, every time I sit down to listen to one of your songs I know I'm in for a treat. Great job man.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a lot for the praise! I wish I had more time to compose 'for fun' at the moment. However, I am composing for some commissioned projects, so perhaps I can release some of that music eventually!

This is a total bop! The main melody is super catchy :)

SpeTheof responds:

The bad part was 1:08 because it ended :(

DJPixelCumMusic responds:

Thomastique responds:

Thank you! 😁

I knew I was hearing the ProjectSAM animation VST when I first heard it. Sounds great! Wonderful job.

FahadLami-NG responds:

Thanks

I was perusing the new audio submissions as I do every once in a while, and the "sound effects" introduction to this song really set you apart from everyone else. I have to say, it absolutely peaked my curiosity, and the payoff was very worth it! I love how I could totally see a chase sequence through this music.

I don't know if Waterflame was an inspiration or not but the breakbeat chiptune vibes really reminded me of a lot of his music (more specifically radiocutter, especially around 2:23) which isn't a bad thing at all.

This submission is a great way to kick-start 2020! If it wasn't obvious already, I enjoyed this song very much. 5/5

Preds responds:

Ayy, thank you so much!

Yes, Waterflame was a big inspiration on this one, Radiocutter and The Chase, were the songs that inspired me to do this.

Thanks again! Hope to see you around :)
